After early breakfast, you will depart from the hotel for Prison Island. Earning its name as a former prison for slaves and a quarantine station for Zanzibar and the mainland, nowadays, the island gives you a chance to escape for peace and quiet.
The island lies just off Old Stone Town and is also home to giant land tortoises imported from Seychelles in the late 19th century. Now it is more commonly known as the home of Zanzibar’s Giant Aldabran Tortoise colony, some of which are over a hundred years old! This endangered species came to Zanzibar as a gift from the government of Seychelles.
Once on the island, you can feed and pet the tortoises; if you have time, you may also like to stroll through the forested interior, where you will see a wide variety of colorful birds and peacocks, bats, and beautiful butterflies. Keep your eyes peeled for the shy and elusive Duikers – an unusual tiny antelope species.
It is fringed with a beautiful coral reef, ideal for snorkeling, and has a lovely white beach for sunbathing. This tour is a great way to see some history and wildlife and Stone Town from the sea, as many old maritime legends would have done.
You will finally have a late guided Stone town tour on this day. The town was declared The World heritage site by UNESCO. With the best tour guide in Zanzibar, you will walk in the footsteps of Arab Sultans of Zanzibar. Discover the beautiful labyrinths of Zanzibar, visit the historical sites, presentation of the Zanzibar doors, their roles, and their significance. Later you will spend your dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After early breakfast, you will drive southwest of the Island to the fishing village of Fumba. You will then board the dhows and search for the Dolphins (85% chance). The species frequently found at Menai Bay are Spinner and Bottlenose dolphins. Swim with them as long as they stay close to the boat. You will then go to one of the selected snorkeling areas while accompanied by a snorkeling guide to show you points of interest and assist beginners. Still, you have the option to relax on the beach only. Later you will spend your dinner and overnight at the hotel.
The beaches of Zanzibar Island are unique, perfect, and a haven for underwater lovers. Zanzibar beaches are the best for their party atmosphere, many bars, and clubs, but the entire atmosphere remains Zanzibar style. Later you will spend your dinner and overnight at the hotel.
