Highlights of Zagreb & Dubrovnik 8 Days / 7 Nights

Day 1:
Arrival Zagreb airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 2:
Enjoy the unique historical heritage of Varaždin and see one of the most attractive castles in Croatia.
Depart from your hotel and visit Varaždin, economic and cultural centre of the area of Međimurje and Hrvatsko Zagorje. Tour of the city with a guide. After the tour depart to Trakošćan Castle – one of the most attractive castles in Croatia, built on the visible foundations of simple romanic citadels from the XII and XIII centuries. Free time to have lunch in one of the local restaurants.
Return to the hotel in the afternoon.

Day 3:
Depart from Ban Jelačić Square just below the Cathedral. Sightseeing tour of the city, including the Upper town, with all of it’s highlights. After sightseeing, return to the starting point. In addition visit the Museum of Broken Relationships in the beautiful baroque Kulmer palace in the Upper Town. An unavoidable sight in your exploration of Zagreb and a unique emotional journey around the world through hundreds of love break-ups.

Day 4:
Free day for leisure.

Day 5:
After breakfast transfer to airport and fly to Dubrovnik.Arrival and transfer to hotel.

Day 6:
Taste of Dalmatia. Take the opportunity to really taste Dalmatia. You will start with a pleasant bus ride along the Adriatic coastline and the first stop will be made in the small village of Orasac. In the charming village of Orašac take part in the production of olive oil the old fashioned way, where the “mill” is driven by a horse. Here you will also have the opportunity to taste some home made cheese, smoked ham and wine. All this in an old fashioned house which has not changed much through the ages. After visiting Orasac village you will continue towards the small town of Ston which is the “oysters capital” of Croatia. Especially interesting are the magnificent walls surrounding the town. They are 5 km long and the construction started in 1317 and was finished by the 16th century. Interesting are also the ancient salt pans that were in use during the Dubrovnik Republic. Salt is still produced here. Oyster farms are all around the area. After visiting Ston, enjoy a walk along the seaside in the town of Mali Ston with a magnificent view on the oyster and mussel farms and taste the famous seafood served on a platter in one of the local restaurants.

Day 7:
Free day for leisure.

Day 8:
After breakfast transfer to airport.
